It has been on the fritz, first with battery problems, then with a problem with the GPS, then with a problem with the flight computer (or the on board computer). I need help diagnosing what the problem might be. I tried to get the battery to go in the charger, but the computer won't boot, so I don't have the installation software. First off, I have read some of the existing threads here (to the extent that I can understand them) on this topic and I have some ideas, but I would like to hear from somebody with more experience than I have. I bought this plane in Florida in 2009. I haven't been flying it in the last year or so, but recently had it up for some cross country flying. I think I was flying at around 9500 feet above sea level, though I think I might have been closer to 10,000. I was flying it to check out the new Navio 400 Plus because I don't think it's going to be available here in the UK soon. In case anybody reading this wants to find out if the new Navio 400 Plus is worth buying, I am going to reserve the Navio 430 for the summer, but I am going to sell the Navio 400 Plus when the weather is a little colder and I can't use it in cold temperatures. So here's what I think I know: Battery is dead. There is a bit of a smell coming from the battery compartment. There is no reception for the GPS. I tried the antenna in different locations and it always shows that the GPS is not connected. There is no connection between the transmitter and receiver. It seems to have lost it's connection to the flight computer. I have been able to enter some sort of longitude/latitude co-ordinates, but it hasn't taken the actual course into account. The glass on the flight computer, GPS screen and antenna has been smashed. The battery is not properly connected to the flight computer The flight computer has stopped working.
